Multiple Choice

Tasks

The Multiple Choice Task is a quick, quiz-style challenge where players select the correct answer from a set of options. Whether you're testing knowledge, giving directional clues, or adding themed trivia to your event, this task type brings focus and friendly competition to your race. Use it to highlight local facts, reinforce learning, or guide teams through story-driven puzzles. You can even include images or hints to support your questions.

How to Create Multiple Choice Tasks

Step 1: Open the Deckle app or use the Web version.

Step 2: Choose your game type — Group or Solo.

  • Group Mode: Players team up before starting. You can allow them to pick their teams or let Deckle auto-assign groups using emoji matching. Each participant is given a random emoji, and they pair up by finding someone with the same one.

  • Solo Mode: Players participate independently. This is ideal for activities that run across multiple days or locations, where people can play on their own time. Solo or with friends.

Step 3: In the Deckle Dashboard, click “+ Task” and choose Multiple Choice as the task submission type. Assign task points to determine how much this question is worth in your game.

Step 4: Enter the possible answers players can choose from.

  • Click “Add Choice” to include more options.

  • Select the correct answer so Deckle can score responses automatically.

  • Click Done and your task is now saved in your collection!

Tips & Best Practices

Creating a Multiple Choice Task is quick — but with a few optional features, you can make it more dynamic, informative, and fun:

➤ Add a Task Description

Give extra context to your prompt. You can include:

  • A hint for the answer

  • A festive or themed message

  • A short explanation of the task’s purpose

This helps players understand the task better and builds excitement.

Upload a Task Image

Include a diagram, location photo, or visual clue to support your question. This helps clarify what players are choosing between — especially useful for visual or location-based trivia.

Enable Location Function

For tasks like “How many windows are there on the Chemistry Building?” or “Which street are you currently on?”, turn on the location feature. Players will be guided to the spot before they can answer.

➤ Customize the Finish Page

Upload an image that appears when the task is completed.

You can use it to:

  • Celebrate with a “Well done!” message

  • Show a correct example photo

  • Promote your brand or give the next steps

Set Number of Retries

Decide how many chances players get to answer the question.

If you want to allow multiple attempts, enter a retry limit to give players another shot.
