A new way to host games
Celebrity-themed games? It’s always a great way to engage with people. People gather, people share passion, and people have good times. However, hosting one takes effort! You have to organize the tasks, prepare the media material to show clues, and always guide players to complete the games. I know it feels very rewarding to host one, BUT THERE IS A BETTER WAY.
With the help of technology, you have apps like Deckle that can literally gamify the real-world experience. Okay, let’s pause my advertising passion for now and show you what we actually did.
We recently created a Swifty challenge & trivia game for Taylor Swift’s fans, and it was great fun! Participants use their fan knowledge to solve trivia questions and videotape each other dancing to complete the game. And the whole thing is guided by no one by their cell phones. Don’t believe me? Dance the song and guess the title
The Swifties are asked to find a partner, think of a song, and dance to show it. Their partner needs to guess the title, then celebrate with a selfie. To win the challenge, players have to be fast. Guessing the title through a mimicking dance is a true way to test knowledge and make good memories!
A picture of nostalgia
Find a place representing the lyrics, ‘I remember it all too well,’ then capture the nostalgia of this line. The tasks are not solely about Taylor Swift; players’ self-expression is valued and shared, adding dynamic layers to the challenge.
Shake it off
Recreate the famous dance scene from ‘Shake it Off’ and record a short video. Taylor’s positivity and bravery enthralled fans worldwide, and we hope players can enjoy a good time shaking IT off!
Test your knowledge
Which song features the lyrics, ‘I’m the only one of me. Baby, that’s the fun of me?’ It is a testament to fan’s passion for Taylor and for members who are unaware, this is an opportunity to explore more of the celebrity.
Love story
Players are asked to collect three items from the ‘Love Story’ lyrics and take a picture of them. Ah, there is a ring! Where? ‘He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring!’ This is the ultimate challenge for players’ fan knowledge. But No Stress if they don’t know! Just pull out the lyrics and a microscope for the fun
Mimic time
They need to find items and hold them in a unique way to represent one of Taylor’s song titles and take a picture to capture the moment. They can find a partner to help or use the body to form a letter for expression. This task asks the player to get creative and leave a smile on their faces 😊
Sing it
For the last test, they are asked to find a partner and sing together. Videotaping and capturing the memorable moment.
What has changed?
Traditional game and trivia events are often challenging for the host because the logistics require mostly manual labor. Now, with the help of technology, the workload has largely decreased, and the host can now engage more actively with their audiences for better experiences!
Now, those tasks are fun but seem conventional, but here’s the trick: They do everything on their phones, including the instructions, playing, and ranking. Meanwhile, the host does not need to craft the game start from the bottom because they are already stored in the app!
