South Lawn Car Park interior

This heritage-listed carpark has been a feature of the campus since 1972. Designed by engineer Jan van der Molen, the distinctive columns contain drainage pipes which allow for the planting of South Lawn’s lawn and trees directly above. The east entrance contains a door from a 1745 house in St Stephen's Green in Dublin, whilst the west entrance is framed by two Atlas figures from the Colonial Bank, previously located on Elizabeth Street.

The carpark has been featured in numerous film and TV productions including Mad Max (1979) and Masterchef.
